Our baby boy is here!! Kayson Zane Smith was born January 8th, 2011 at 11:22am. He weighed 8lbs 13oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. It was a long awaited arrival. Mommy and Daddy thought he would of been here two weeks ago. Here is the story:
Jan 6th ( two weeks over due)- We went to our weekly Dr.'s appt and was still dilated to a 3. Dr. Barrington wanted us to set an induction date for Tuesday Jan 11.
Jan 7th - I started having light labor pains around noon. I called my mother to see what she thought. She told me to start timing them. They were 5 minutes about, but very tolerable. I called Michael at work and he decided to come home, he said that he was having some sympathy labor pains himself all morning! lol! By the time he got home the contractions where about 3 minutes apart. (4:00pm) We decided to go to the hospital, but not before getting momma something to eat at subway:-). Nana and Grandpa Bobby hit the road from Houston. Paw paw and Emaw met us up at the hospital. By 7:30pm they decided to send me home because I wasn't progressing in labor. I went home and took a bath and tried to get some sleep.
Jan 8th - 2:00am I couldn't sleep bc the contractions where getting stronger, I tired everything from walking, bouncing on a ball, and sitting in the rocking chair. Nothing seemed to help. By 4:00am we decided to head back up to the hospital. The nurses said I was staying this time cus I was dilated to a 5. The hard contractions continued until around 8 am when I finally decided to get an epidural. Within an hour I progressed to a 9. It was time to start pushing!! Everyone stood up in excitement. The nurse said not to get to excited bc it could take up to two hours of pushing before he would come out. After the first push we could see long brown hair. The nurse decided to call the dr in. Once he got there it wasn't to many more pushes and we had our lil man @ 11:22am.
Funny notes:
-Kayson came out just a peeing all over the Dr and soon later all over the nurse.
-Michael almost passed out when the dr cut me for the episiotomy.
-After having his circumcision, the pediatrician said we had a lil horse on our hands.
-We had our first diaper changing nightmare. Peeing & pooping all over the place. We couldn't stop laughing.
Jan 10th- Kayson's @ home!!! Roxy and Baby where there to greet him and wanted to play with him.
Jan 13th- Momma and Nana took Kayson to his first check up. He weighted 8lbs 4oz. He was such a good lil boy we decided to go shopping :-).
Jan 15th- Paw Paw came over to see Kayson and watch some football. Kayson got his first lesson in the game. Always keep your feet moving.
